Liberty Bell 60, LaConnor 50

Connor Walsh scored 25 points, 18 in the second half, as the
Liberty Bell Mt. Lions (18-4) have gone 2-0 at the state 1A tournament, beating LaConnor Thursday, 60-50. Walsh ended the first half with a 3-pointer, a shot that turned into a 5-point play as the LaConnor coach protested the shot beating the buzzer. Trevor Ahrens added 14 points, and Louis Donnet 10. Donnet hit a buzzer-beater to end the
first quarter, scoring 6 in the period, after which Liberty Bell led 8-4. But it was Walsh's heroics before intermission that gave the Mt. Lions a nine-point lead
at the break.

The Liberty Bell boys are assured no worse than a 6th place
finish, making it the first time in their history they have won a trophy at state. The Mt. Lions today (Friday) will face N.W. Christian (19-1) at 6 p.m. as the tourney continues.
