Connell grabs the 4th-place trophy in state 1A basketball while defending-champ Brewster has trophied eight years in a row, the Bears grabbing 7th. After the contest, coach Tim Taylor resigned after 12 seasons at the helm, winning three state titles and posting a .809 winning percentage (262-62).

Brewster center Cole Youngers had 11 points and 10 boards. Bryce Scheller scored 13 to lead Brewster, who fell behind 15-7 after the first quarter, and never could come all the way back. Saturday.

Brewster Boys 48, Vashon Island 36

Cole Youngers scored a game-high 19 points in this Friday loser-out game.
