Cascade Harvest Coalition, in partnership with Washington State University – Okanogan County Extension, will be hosting a networking workshop for local food producers and buyers in at the Okanogan County Fairgrounds Annex, Monday, April 7th, from 1-4 p.m. Farmers, ranchers, winemakers, cheese-makers, chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, produce and food service managers are all encouraged to attend and learn how to increase local consumption of local production.

New American Oxford English Dictionary chose “locavore’, one who prefers to eat locally grown/produced food, as the “word of the year” for 2007. Now it’s time to build on that interest and work cooperatively to change our regional food system for the better. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the key players in this important food industry trend. Whether you are a producer or a buyer, this workshop will help you make the valuable connections you need to grow lasting, local relationships.

Bring your business cards, display materials, samples (sorry, no alcohol can be served) and product lists (what you have and what you need!).

Interested parties should register by March 31st. Registration is free, but space is limited and participation is on a first come first serve basis. To register contact Mark McIntyre (206) 632-0606 or farmtotable2008@gmail.com .

Workshop sponsored by Cascade Harvest Coalition with funding from WSDA.
