Students from kindergarten through high school are invited to audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “King Arthur’s Quest,” to be presented at the Omak Performing Arts Center Feb. 13.

Students will have the opportunity to work with professional actors/directors from the Missoula Children’s Theatre for a week after school, concluding with the performance of the play. Tuition for the week is $40, and students must be available for all rehearsals from 3:30 to 8 p.m., Feb. 8-12.

The audition will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at the PAC. Students auditioning should arrive no later than 3:30 and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Everyone who auditions will receive two free tickets to the final performance, whether or not they are selected for the cast.

All students are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre, a non-profit professional theater organization based in Missoula, Mont., sends actor/director teams to stage performances with local youth around the world. MCT has been visiting the Omak PAC annually since the theater was opened 20 years ago. The touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

“King Arthur’s Quest” will be presented Saturday, Feb. 13, at 3 and 7 p.m. The Missoula Children's Theatre residency at the PAC is sponsored by Omak Community Schools and the Omak PAC Foundation. For more information, call Laura McNamara, PAC program director, 826-7688.
