Those interested in discussing vegetation treatments on
Forest Service lands surrounding Twisp and Winthrop are invited to a meeting Thursday March 18 at the Twisp Community Center.

Methow Valley Ranger District is hosting the meeting to discuss priorities for thinning, prescribed fire, and other fuels treatments.

“We’re looking forward to engaging participants in discussions about management activities on National Forest lands,” said Arlo Vander Woude Vegetation Management Program Leader. “This meeting is an opportunity for
area residents to meet with employees and ask questions; to learn about upcoming plans and processes for managing trees and other plant life on the district."

“It is our sincere interest to incorporate the ideas and concerns of our neighbors and stakeholders as we develop plans for future vegetation management projects on the Methow Valley Ranger District,” Vander Woude concluded.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm and District Ranger Michael Liu will begin the presentation at 6:45.
