Brewster Woman Injured in Early Morning Crash

A 21-year-old Brewster woman was injured in a two vehicle crash just south of the Brewster city limits early Monday.

According to the Washington State Patrol report, Carmen Piopamataz was transported to the Okanogan Douglas District Hospital with an injury to her right arm.

The State Patrol says Piopamataz, who was northbound on Highway 97, was attempting to make a left turn, when she struck a mini-van that was southbound. The driver of the van, 18-year-old Efrain Velasco Gomez was not injured in the accident.

The State Patrol says Piopamataz was charged with failure to yield.
