Campbell Unseats Hover in Commissioner Race

Election workers finished their manual precinct-by-precinct recount of ballots in the race for Okanogan County Commissioner for District 2.

After the count was completed Tuesday, it appeared that challenger Ray Campbell has unseated incumbent Commissioner Bud Hover by 10 votes.

The recount numbers released Tuesday showed Campbell with 7,190 votes and Hover with 7,180. In the initial machine count, Campbell received 7,194 votes and Hover got 7,184.

The recount began Monday at 9 am. The county Canvassing Board will meet to certify the recount at 10 am on Thursday in the county auditor's office in Okanogan. That meeting is open to the public.
