Jan 27, 2014

An 84-year-old Saskatchewan man was found dead after the RV that he had been living in at the Princes Center in Oroville burned down early Saturday morning.

At around 4:06 AM, Oroville Police, Oroville Fire and the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded scene. Sheriff Frank Rogers said when emergency personnel arrived they believed there was someone staying in the trailer but they were not sure. He said the trailer was fully involved when they arrived.

Once the fire was put out officials discovered the body of Cornelius D. Friesen, of Glenbush, Saskatchewan. Rogers said the trailer belonged to Friesen, who comes down to Oroville during the winter and was living in the trailer.

Rogers said, at this time it appears that the fire was caused by space heater in the trailer. He said, Friesen was the only one in the trailer at the time of the fire.
