Firewood Cutting Permit Sales Postponed Until Fire Conditions Improve

Aug 03, 2017

With fire danger condition levels now at “Very High”, and with campfire restrictions and industrial fire precaution levels increasing, two local ranger districts are temporarily postponing the sales of woodcutting permits until conditions improve.

Until further notice woodcutting permits will not be sold from the Tonasket and Methow Valley Ranger District offices, the Forest Service office at the Omak Visitor Center, nor from Forest Service permit vendors in Tonasket, Oroville, Omak, Conconully, Twisp and Winthrop.

Forest visitors should always check to see what restrictions are in place before traveling to the national forest. Check the forest web page (https://www.fs.usda.gov/okawen/) or contact any Okanogan-Wenatchee NF office for up-to-date campfire restriction and woodcutting permit sales information.
