It’s Bike Rodeo Time!

Apr 30, 2014

The first of two free Methow Valley Bike Rodeos will be held Saturday May 17th from 10am to noon at Twisp Works.  The Second will be Saturday June 14th from 10am to noon at the Pearrygin Lake State Park East boat launch parking lot.  June 14th is a free parking day at the State Park in observance of National Get Outdoors Day.

These rodeos are intended for riders 5 to 12 years old, but all are welcome.  Participants will complete a series of balance and agility stations and then finish with a group ride lead by a public safety official.  All participants will receive a prize at the end of the group ride.

Bicycle mechanics will be on hand to give your child’s bike a safety inspection and volunteers will be checking the fit of your child’s helmet prior to entering the course.  Bike helmets are required to participate and will be available by donation for those who do not have one.

Both the May 17th and the June 14th  free Bike Rodeos are sponsored by Pearrygin Lake State Park, Aero Methow Rescue Service, Okanogan County Fire District 6, Twisp Police Department, Winthrop Marshal’s Office, Winthrop Kiwanis, Methow Cycle and Sport, and Hank’s Harvest Foods.

A permission form signed by a parent or guardian is required to participate.  These forms will be available at registration beginning at 9:45am.
