Moses Lake Man Killed in Rollover Accident

May 17, 2014

A 27- year-old  Moses Lake man was killed in a rollover accident on the Sinlahekin Road near Blue Lake early Friday.

Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers says his deputies were called to the accident around 2:35 am on Friday. The vehicle was traveling south near the southeast end of Blue Lake when  it left the roadway and rolled.

Rogers said when deputies arrived they found Michael D. Pollard of Moses Lake and Everett had been killed in the accident.  A passenger, 26-year-old Jarett O. Lyon of Arlington was injured also injured. Rogers said their investigation showed that the Pollard, the driver, was ejected from the vehicle and ended up pinned underneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lyon was able to get out of the vehicle and was walking down the road yelling for help. The Sheriff said campers in the area on Blue Lake heard Lyon and went to his aid and then called for law enforcement.

Rogers said investigators do not believe speed was a factor but do think that alcohol was a contributing factor.
