Okanogan County Unemployment Grew in February

Okanogan County’s unemployment rate rose slightly in February to 9.8 percent, up from 9.5 percent the previous month, according to figures released this morning by the state Employment Security Office. 

The unemployment rate matched last February’s rate of 9.8 percent.

Ferry county’s unemployment rate went dropped slightly in February, to 12.3 percent from 12.5 percent in January, but that still registered as the highest unemployment rate in the state.  The unemployment rate in Ferry county was 14.1 percent in February of 2016.

For Douglas county, the unemployment rate also dropped slightly to 8.5 percent, down from 8.8 percent the previous month, and down from 9.5 percent in February of 2016.

The county rates, which are not seasonally adjusted, showed that King County has the lowest rate in the state at 3.3 percent.  The statewide unemployment rate for February was 4.9 percent.
