Okanogan Man Drowns in River

A 74-year-old Okanogan man drowned Tuesday when he wandered away from his residence and went into the river near Legion Park.

Okanogan County Coroner Dave Rodriguez said, Ronald Demos of Okanogan and suffered from Dementia, which was listed as a contributing factor in his death. 

Rodriguez said Demos wandered away from his residence at the U and I Motel.  He was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office at 9:07 am Tuesday and was found deceased in the river by the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team at 11:30am.
