Omak Middle School enforces drug-free school laws.

May 04, 2017

On Tuesday, May 2nd, an Omak Middle School teacher reported to school administration that a locker smelled like marijuana. Omak Police Officers were called after Vice Principal, Chris Miller, found marijuana in a 13 yr. old male’s locker.

Marijuana use is not legal for someone under 21. The juvenile male faces 30 days in juvenile detention, up to 12 months of community supervision, up to 150 hours of community restitution, loss of his driver’s license, and up to a $500 fine.

It’s a felony to provide marijuana to someone under 21 years old, even your own child.

Omak Police Officers and Omak School District are committed to making sure kids aren’t using substances that can have a negative impact on their future, so they will continue to enforce underage drinking and marijuana use laws. Please call 911 if you witness or suspect someone is providing illegal substances like alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs to minors, or a place for them to consume it.
