¬Omak School District hires Middle School principal

The Omak School District has hired Dr. Chris Neese Blackman, Othello, as the new principal at Omak Middle School for the 2016-17 schoolyear.

Dr. Blackman was one of three candidates interviewed by a committee of staff and parents on April 12.

She comes with an extensive background in special education and child development, with 17 years as a professional educator and experience as a social worker. She is currently the assistant principal at Othello High School.

The District’s human resources department is in the process of finalizing the package for Dr. Blackman, which will be submitted to the school board for final approval at the April 28 meeting.

“We look forward to welcoming her to the Omak community and the OSD team,” Superintendent Dr. Erik Swanson said.
