One of Washington’s Most Wanted Among Those Arrested In Okanogan County Drug Bust

Aug 29, 2017

On Thursday August 24th the North Central Washington Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on a parcel of property near Wannacut Lake, off of Eighme road.

Okanogan County Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Brown says there were 167 marijuana plants and a shotgun confiscated from the property.  Brown said, this was not a residential area, it’s fairly remote and although there was a shack on the property it did not appear that it was livable.

During the execution of the warrant the three men were taken into custody, and all three were charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and booked into Okanogan County Jail.

Those arrested were 26-year-old Arbie Melvin, of Olympia; 27-year-old Raymond Cameron, of Tacoma; and 18-year-old Rodney Paris, of Everett.

Brown said Cameron told officers this was the second time he had grown marijuana on this same property.

Melvin also had a felony warrant for his arrest and was on the Washington’s Most  Wanted list. King County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Houck said bench warrant had been issued for Melvin's arrest after he was found guilty of felony no contact against his girlfriend, but did not show up for sentencing. Houck said Melvin’s criminal history includes Theft of a Firearm and Violation of a Domestic Violence No Contact Order.
