Oroville Man Arrested Following Pursuit

A 47-year-old Oroville man was arrested early this morning, following a pursuit with Sheriff's deputies that reached speeds of over 95 miles per hour.

Kenneth G. Haberman was arrested on Fish Lake Road, after deputies used a spike strip to disable the pickup he was driving.

According to Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers, Haberman initially passed Deputy Terry Shrable on Highway 97 south of Tonasket going over 84 miles per hour. When Shrable began pursuing Haberman, Rogers said, he sped up and began to pull away, reaching speeds over 95 miles per hour.

Haberman turned onto the South Pine Creek Road and continued eluding police until officials we able to deploy a spike strip, taking out the front tire of Haberman's pickup.

Roger's said luckily, with the road conditions, no one wrecked.

Haberman was booked into the County Jail on charges of felony eluding.
