After a lengthy interview selection process, the Omak School District Board of Directors has offered Michael Porter the Superintendent position, pending successful contract negotiations.

Porter is Omak’s current Assistant Superintendent and will begin on July 1, 2020. He succeeds Dr. Erik Swanson who will retire after seven years in the district.

Porter was selected over Dr. Jared Hoadley, Assistant Superintendent from the Mead School District.

In a media release today, the Board of Directors stated they "would like to express appreciation to all staff and community members for their input in this selection process."

Porter brings experience with curriculum and instructional staff development as a result of 16 years of classroom experience and 12 years as an administrative leader. His core values include improving and maintaining effective communication skills, building relationships, and engaging with the community and staff.

Porter is honored to have been selected and is excited to begin working with the outstanding staff and administrative team.
