Monday was the deadline for filing your federal income taxes, and now comes an additional reminder of taxes coming due. Rirst half property taxes and irrigation assessments are due by the end of the month.

Okanogan County Treasurer Leah McCormack sent out a reminder today to all taxpayers in the county that the 2013 full or first half taxes must be postmarked by Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

McCormack said interest and penalties will start accruing on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

If you are mailing your taxes and assessments you are asked the send those to the Okanogan County Treasurer, PO Box 111 Okanogan, WA 98840. If you are paying by credit card, you can go to www.officialpayments.com or call the toll free number, 1-800-272-9829. McCormack said to use that service you will need to have the jurisdiction number which is 5633 along with the tax amount and parcel number or numbers that you are paying for.

McCormack said they do not accept credit or debit cards at the counter in their office. You can drop off your payments up to April 30th or you can mail those, but again they must be postmarked by Tuesday April 30, 2013.
