Public Service Announcement from Okanogan PUD

PUD crews continue to focus on preserving electric and broadband services by aggressively fighting fire where it threatens PUD facilities. As a result, the PUD currently has about a dozen customers without power and two commercial carriers without telecommunication service.

Damage to both electric and fiber facilities occurred yesterday afternoon on old Hwy 97 between Riverside and Bide-A-Wee Rd. Crews are currently working on restoring electric and fiber services in those locations.

Utility workers continue to assess the burn areas for infrastructure damage. Weather predictions indicate 15-30 mph winds beginning this afternoon and continuing through the night so the PUD is encouraging customers to make preparations for outages due to lines being de-energized from the fires and to report any outages to 509-422-3310.
