Okanogan Conservation District, working in partnership with over two dozen natural resource agencies and organizations, has published a resource guide to assist landowners. This guide, available on the District’s website at www.okanogancd.org/Carlton, includes an easy flowchart for finding the right resources for one’s specific situation, and detailed listings of each agency/organization involded in post-fire recovery of natural resources and agricultural infrastructure. Hard copies of the guide will be distributed around the Okanogan and Methow Valleys in the coming days.
Landowners seeking assistance may contact the District by phone, email, or in person. Staff can advise on a number of natural resource issues, or can refer landowners to the appropriate group(s). At this time, there are limited funds available for expenses related to land restoration; however, the District is actively working with other natural resource and agriculture groups to locate additional sources of both technical and financial assistance for private landowners.
