Riverside man injured in one vechicle accident early Sunday

Jan 12, 2015

A 32-year-old Riverside man was injured early Sunday when his car drove off the Conconully Highway about seven miles north of Okanogan.

James M. Eriksen was transported to Mid-Valley Hospital, according to a State Patrol report. He was in satisfactory condition Monday morning, according to a hospital spokesman.

The northbound car ran down an embankment, rolled into a telephone pole, knocking out power to much of the Pogue flats. The vehicle then rolled into a field where it came to rest on its top.

The power went out at roughly 12:50am and PUD crews were able to restore the power at 6:40 am.

The State Patrol is citing Driving Under the Influence as the cause of the accident and charges against Eriksen are pending.
