Emergency management officials have given level one evacuation notices to five homes in the area of the Salmon Creek fire. That fire is burning in heavy fuels and very steep terrain.

Okanogan County Emergency Manager Scott Miller said there have been no structures damaged, and the level one notices are just a warning that there is a fire. He said, no one has been asked to leave at this time.

Miller estimated the fire at about 100 acres as of about 8pm Monday. He said the fire has shifted more to the east, and fire officials told him that was good news, as the fire will burn slowly downhill as the cools off. The fire has crested the hill and is now burning towards Green Lake road.

Miller said there are three roads in the area that are closed, the Green Lake Road, Happy Hill Road, and Salmon Creek Road from Happy Hill Road to Green Lake Road.
