Salmon season has closed on the Okanogan and Similkameen Rivers. The season, as stated in the pamphlet closed at dusk on Thursday September 15th. Sgt. Jim Brown with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said they do anticipate that Steelhead season will be opening sometime within the next month, but that will be done by emergency rule. As of now, the Okanogan and Similkameen rivers are closed to all species. There are portions of the Columbia River that are still open, you will need to check the rules pamphlet for information on those areas.
