Search and Rescue Crews Help Teen Trapped on Bluff

On Wednesday, 18-year-old Ezra Myers, of Oroville, was rescued by volunteers with the Okanogan County Search and Rescure from a bluff above the Similkameen Trail west of Oroville.

Sheriff Tony Hawley said a US Border Patrol agent observed Myers just before 7pm, stranded in the rocks. Myers was out hiking and when he noticed it was getting late, Hawley said, he attempted to take an alternate path back out and ended up in a position where he was not able to continue down the rocks or maneuver his way back up without assistance.

Okanogan County Search and Rescue high angle team reached him at approximately 10:30pm and brought him out safely and without injury.
