Soroptimists Offering Scholarships to Local Students

Soroptimist International of Okanogan Valley is seeking applicants for three scholarships, including two $1,000 awards to graduating senior girls and a $500 Returning Adult Scholarship.

The club will award a $1,000 Scholarship to one Okanogan High School graduating senior girl and a $1,000 Scholarship to one Omak High School graduating senior girl.

To be eligible for these high school scholarships, the applicant must be a 2014 graduating senior girl from Okanogan or Omak. The successful applicant will have 3.0 GPA or better and will demonstrate financial need. Application materials are available from the club or at the school counselor’s office. Deadline for these applications is April 18, 2014.

The Okanogan Valley Soroptimists will also award $500 for a Returning Adult Scholarship. This scholarship is for an adult woman returning to school after a period of absence from education. This woman can be pursuing any kind of training or education. To apply for this award, the adult woman must submit an essay describing her circumstances and educational goals.
