Two people are in custody on charges that they ran over two people after being confronted for squatting on someone else’s property.

Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers says the incident happened when Richard Finegold returned to his home on Sourdough Road after being gone for months and found that someone had moved in.

On Thursday deputies received a call that two people had been run over at his property.

Rogers says James Faire of Tonasket and Angelina Nobilis of Kent had moved into Finegold’s home and when Finegold confronted them with his two friends, George Abrantes of Marysville and Debra Long of Issaquah, they argued.

Rogers says Faire pulled a gun and got in his pickup. Witnesses say Abrantes and Long approached to him, but Faire ran over them with his pickup, twice. Long died and Abrantes was taken to a Spokane hospital.
