Teen Arrested For Assaulting Parents with Knife

Apr 22, 2013

A 16-year-old Brewster boy was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly assaulted his parents with a knife.

Miguel A. Cruz-Hernandez was booked into the Okanogan County Juvenile Detention Center for second degree Assault and Felony Threats following an altercation with his parents at their home on Max Goehry Road north of Brewster.

Sheriff Frank Rogers says Miguel Hernandez was apparently upset with his parents because he did not want to go to church. He said Miguel allegedly assaulted his mother and then grabbed a knife, swiped at her with it and then chased her through the house.  Rogers said “When the father got involved Miguel Hernandez also punched his father.” The Sheriff said Miguel also told his parents he was going to get a gun and come back and kill them.

There were three other children in the house during the incident.

Brewster Police responded first and detained the young man until Deputies arrived.
