THREE RIVERS HOSPITAL OPENS IN-HOUSE FAMILY PRACTICE CLINIC

Sep 15, 2014

The clinic inside Three Rivers Hospital is expanding its services from surgery and gynecology to include general patient care.

Columbia Medical and Surgical Services opens its family practice clinic Monday, Sept. 15, located in the east wing of the hospital, 507 Hospital Way.

“We’re excited to open this clinic and have another means of helping our district residents and visitors,” CEO J. Scott Graham said. “This has been in the works for a long time, and we believe it will meet patients’ needs in several ways.”

“It will be convenient for our clients, because being in the hospital our patients can be connected easily and quickly with other services, such as lab tests and X-rays,” Clinic Manager Janet Hanke said.

Graham noted the clinic could also help cut costs for patients as well as the hospital by referring patients with non-emergent health concerns to the clinic, rather than taking care of them in the emergency room.

To begin the clinic, Columbia Medical will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Urgent care walk-in hours will be from 5-7 p.m. on the same days.

Hours may be extended in the future.

Services offered include general health and wellness care for children, men and women; vaccinations; consultations for surgeries; diabetic foot care; physicals for Department of Transportation and CDL workers; minor procedures; and monthly blood tests for patients using Coumadin, an anti-coagulation medication.

Hospital staff have been revamping the clinic’s six fully-stocked exam rooms and waiting room for our patients, and two offices for our four providers and manager.

Signs point the way to the clinic’s entrance, which is accessible from the hospital’s parking lot at the end of the east wing. To make an appointment or for more information, call (509) 689-3749.
