Truck Lands in the Okanogan River

On Wednesday, at approximately 10 a.m., Omak Police responded to the Omak bridge at Main Street and Central Avenue for a report of a vehicle in the river.

The driver, 51-year-old George Hall, Omak was arrested for alleged DUI after his 2003 Ford Explorer went over the embankment into the Okanogan River on East Apple Avenue by the gazebo.

Hall was taken to Mid Valley Hospital and released and then booked into the Okanogan County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the river by Randy’s Tow.

Law Enforcement on the scene included Omak Police, the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, Lifeline and Omak Fire Department.

The Department of Ecology will also be notified of the accident.
