Two Bridgeport Men Arrested in Stolen Vehicle

Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men early Saturday morning, after they were found driving a stolen vehicle.

Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said around 1:50 AM Deputies were on routine patrol in Bridgeport when they observed a vehicle being driven by a man they suspected to have a suspended driver’s license. Gjesdal said when they ran the vehicle license they also discovered it was listed as stolen.

The vehicle pulled into a minimart, and the driver and one passenger exited the vehicle and went inside the store. The Deputies followed the two men inside, and upon questioning, the driver, 29-year-old Leonardo Lopez-Herrera, said the vehicle belonged to his cousin and he had permission to drive it. However, he was not certain what is cousin’s name was.

Lopez-Herrera’s driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested and booked into the Okanogan County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

The passenger, 20-year-old Victor Valdovinos-Vazquez, was found to be in possession of 13.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine. He was also minor who had consumed alcohol.

Valdovinos-Vazquez was arrested and booked in the Okanogan County Jail for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and minor in possession/consumption of alcohol.
