Volunteeers Needed to Help With Plant Sale

Mar 23, 2015

The Okanogan Conservation District is in need of volunteers to help prepare plants for its annual plant sale and for the 6,000 plants that are being donated to Carlton Complex landowners thanks to the Arbor Day Foundation and the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association.

Volunteers are needed on April 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th at the USDA Service Center at 1251 South 2nd Ave in Okanogan.  This is on-your-feet, get-your-hands-dirty kind of work and shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m each weekday.  Help is also needed to distribute plants on April 11th between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. in downtown Okanogan.

Please contact Kirsten Cook at the Okanogan Conservation District to sign up for one or more volunteer shifts. Volunteers who are able to give at least 3 hours of service will be able to select plants from the surplus sale on April 11th ahead of the sale opening.
