Winter Weather Closes North Cascades Highway

The Washington Department of Transportation closed Highway 20, the North Cascades Highway Sunday afternoon due to heavy snowfall and strong winds. The pass is closed from the Silver Star Gate at milepost 149 to Granite Creek at milepost 171.

The DOT says they will assess the conditions on Monday afternoon to determine if the pass is safe to open, or if it will remain closed for the rest of the winter.
