Wood Chips Available

Aug 20, 2014

A pile of wood chips resulting from suppression activities on recent fires in the Methow Valley Ranger District is being made available, free of charge, to the public.

The pile of wood chips is at the Buttermilk SnoPark, west of Twisp, Washington and District Ranger Mike Liu would like to see the pile gone before snowfall.

“It’ll be first come-first served”, said Shannon O’Brien, Public Affairs Specialist.  “There is no need for a permit.  Individuals interested should just go to the snow park and load up the chips they want.”

The wood chips are a by-product of building and strengthening containment lines during this summer’s fires.
