WSDA Hands-On Handler Training

Mar 02, 2015

WSDA is partnering with Washington State Tree Fruit Association and Chelan Fruit to provide a hands-on pesticide handler training program.  This training, is geared to agricultural pesticide handlers – workers  who mix, load and/or apply pesticides.  This training meets the requirements for Worker Protection Standard handler training.  Training is provided in Spanish and English but for a class to be presented, there must be a minimum of 15 class participants.   WSDA provides all trainers and necessary training materials.  The training does not replace the Pesticide Applicators License but does provide recertification credits.  Each attendee completing the training will receive a Handlers’ Card valid for 5 years.

Participants need a warm jacket because some training exercises are conducted outdoors.

The training is being held  March 13 at the Agriplex – Okanogan County Fairgrounds, 175 Rodeo Trail Road, Okanogan.  Check-in starts at 7:30 AM with classes scheduled for 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The fee for the class is $45 and includes lunch.  To register or to have questions answered contact Joanne Thomas at the Washington State Tree Fruit Association  (509) 665-9641.
