The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) will award over $1 million in new and renewing scholarships to college students this spring for the 2019-2020 school year.  The deadline for new applicants to submit scholarship applications to WAEF is March 1st, 2019. WAEF scholarship applications are accessed through the foundation’s website, www.waef.org, under the “scholarships” tab.

Qualified applicants for WAEF scholarships have a tie to Washington’s tree fruit industry.  Students receiving new awards from WAEF are in their final year of high school, enrolled currently in college or entering college as an adult. For a complete list of scholarships and qualifications, please visit www.waef.org/scholarships and view “Award Descriptions.”

Scholarships awarded through WAEF may be used by students at accredited trade/technical schools, two-year and four-year public and private colleges and universities.

Two separate applications are available to college-bound and college enrolled applicants.  Applicants pursuing a technical/vocational education will utilize the WAEF Vocational/Technical Scholarship Application.  A list of qualified vocational/technical programs are listed in the application description.  Students pursuing two- and four-year degrees will utilize the WAEF Universal Scholarship Application.  Both applications are available at www.waef.org/scholarships.

All applications must be completed and submitted online.  Printed forms are not available.

Students are encouraged to contact the WAEF office with questions about qualifications or for application assistance.  WAEF staff is reached at (509) 663-7713 or scholarships@waef.org.  Additionally, a list of scholarship tips can be found on the WAEF website under the scholarships tab.

WAEF expects to extend scholarship assistance to approximately 350 new & renewing students for the 2019-20 school year.

In 2018, WAEF awarded $1.1 million in scholarships.  The foundation currently assists 315 college-enrolled students.
