No "pink slime" on menu in Wash. schools

State education officials say no schools in Washington state include a meat product known as "pink slime" on their menus.

The common beef filler is in the news after the USDA decided to allow school districts to opt out of using meat that includes "lean finely textured" beef.

But Washington districts have nothing to decide, says a spokesman for the state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Nate Olson says the beef provider for the state of Washington does not have that kind of meat.
