Liberty Bell's Boys and Oroville's Girls Return to State Cross Country Championships

The Liberty Bell Boys and Oroville Girls will return to the WIAA High School Cross Country Championship Meet next Saturday after qualifying at the Apple Ridge run near Yakima yesterday (Friday October 28th) afternoon.

Sophomore Liam Daily led the Mt Lions to their second straight State appearance finishing second at the Regional behind Oroville's Zack Spieker, running a personal best 16:25 over the 3 mile course in Cowiche. Spieker won the Regional championship with a time of 16:08 and led the race from start to finish. Daily was the 2010 Regional Champ.

The Mountain Lions edged Lake Roosevelt's Raiders for the second of the two spots to State by one point, Junior Nolan Jensen passing one Raider right at the finish line for one very important point, Taylor Woodruff passing a couple of runners on the final stretch, Justin McMillan passing a Raider right at the finish and Tim Lewis passing two Raiders, two Hornets and a Manson runner for points in the last
